New Atheist Charlatans: Part VI

I’m currently in the process of moving, so I won’t be blogging regularly. I have prewritten a series of posts critiquing the so-called “New Atheist” movement. I was originally going to submit these as a full article on Miguk Minute, but I decided to release them here instead. I’ll be back with regular blogging in two weeks or so. Enjoy!

I desperately tried to find something redeeming about Sam Harris, but I came up empty handed. A while back, I received his 2006 book Letter to a Christian Nation as a gift, and found it wholly unremarkable. During the Bush administration, Harris penned an article defending the use of torture. In early 2017, Harris hosted Charles Murray on a podcast to discuss a non-existent link between race and intelligence. Harris displayed none of the skepticism that supposedly defines New Atheism. In 2013, Harris noted, “the people who speak most sensibly about the threat that Islam poses to Europe are actually fascists.”
