I’m currently in the process of moving, so I won’t be blogging regularly. I have prewritten a series of posts critiquing the so-called “New Atheist” movement. I was originally going to submit these as a full article on Miguk Minute, but I decided to release them here instead. I’ll be back with regular blogging in two weeks or so. Enjoy!
As the non-religious population in the United States continues to grow, it needs good leaders. Atheists are still incredibly unpopular and some states even have statutes banning them from holding elected office. The separation of church and state is still an issue that needs strong public advocacy. Diversity matters as well: of the six prominent New Atheists mentioned above, only one is a person of color and only one is a woman–and they are the same person.
