I’m a dedicated Apple user. I use macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and iOS devices. I have been satisfied with their performance and I see no reason to switch. I have many friends who use Windows, Roku, Amazon, Fitbit, Android, or other competitor services. This doesn’t bother me at all. Why should it?
On the internet, there’s a stereotype of “Apple fanboys” and “Android fanboys” endlessly arguing about which is better. Since I usually write about politics, I can totally understand the dynamic of picking your side and sticking with it. However, it’s not really an argument that is generally productive.
To mirror what CGP Grey said on an episode of the Hello Internet podcast (I forget which one), even if someone can make an argument that an Android device is better than an iPhone, I’m really only going to switch if the benefits truly outweigh having to move all of my files out of the Apple ecosystem. That’s a pretty high bar, but I assume that (reasonable) Android users feel the same way.
